Coco: Movie review

I’m sure that I’m like many of you in that I know very little about the history and traditions behind Mexico’s Day of the Dead celebration. I had seen depictions of it in tv shows and movies with parades and people dressed like skeletons, but never knew the rituals and beliefs that are so ingrained in the culture. I think Coco (in an obviously Disneyfied way) shed some light on a celebration that those of us from other countries have been curious about, but haven’t had much experience with.

In Coco we take a trip with a young boy as he learns more about his ancestors and the reasons behind the family traditions on the Day of the Dead. It is a fun, colorful journey through his current life and the afterlife. I really enjoyed the movie and can’t wait to see it again.

Please feel free to download and print the following coloring pages from the movie Coco to enjoy.
