Brinkman Adventures Season 4: a product review

Brinkman Adventures
Our family was introduced to the missionary stories from Brinkman Adventures when we received a digital copy of Brinkman Adventures Season 4 for review.

Brinkman Adventures

Brinkman Adventures  are audio dramas that are based on modern-day missionaries.     We have read many missionary stories but Brinkman Adventures brings these stories to life and makes the stories more meaningful.  There’s something about listening to a story that is being portrayed rather than reading it that draws you into the experiences. All the episodes revolve around the fictional Brinkman family’s experiences as they share missionary stories through each episode.

Season 4 contains 12 episodes which are approximately half an hour in length.  We have read many missionary stories but Brinkman Adventures brings these stories to life and makes the stories more meaningful.  There’s something about listening to a story that is being portrayed rather than reading it that draws you into the experiences. In this season’s first episode, the Brinkman’s share accounts how they overcame being stranded at a camp and how they turned what would have been a disaster into a rewarding adventure which resulted in a new addition to the Brinkman family.  Through this season we are told missionary Carl Ralston’s story of how he was committed to saving a young Cambodian girl who was sold into slavery and how he changed her life and many others as well in the process.  This episode was able to use the voice of Nhu who was the actual woman in this real-life story.  We were able to relate to the story of Carl Ralston because of his persistence in following after what God placed in his heart.  He never forgot Nhu and never abandoned what he felt God calling him to do despite how long it took to finally follow through.  His persistence is a great testimony on how to never give up what we feel we are called to do in our life.   Other episodes tell the stories of individuals who have been changed and used by God as the Brinkman’s take us to places like  Somalia, Russia, the Middle East and more.   The episodes use a fictional family to tell missionary stories that are inspired by real-life missionaries. We loved to listen to the stories then read the actual accounts of the missionaries on the Brinkman Adventures’ website.  We have all heard of what Christians deal with in other countries as well as the challenges that missionaries face in the countries where they are called to serve.  The dramatized episodes help to make real these experiences so that we can also share in the discovery of what God is doing in the world through many of his servants.  Beyond just a story you can take these episodes and have a discussion about how a particular story is related to your own life and how you can be used of God as well.
