Cars 3: review

I was given the opportunity to preview the new sequel in the Cars franchise – Cars 3. The storyline is familiar, but with a little twist thrown in at the end. We get to follow our hero Lightning McQueen as he is cruising through another Piston Cup season until the newer, faster cars start pushing the veteran racers aside. Lightning is involved in a terrible accident and spends a good part of the movie trying to regain the form and speed that made him Piston Cup champion in the first place. Along with his rehab trainer Cruz Ramirez he travels in search of the tracks and cars that made Doc Hudson who he was, hoping to channel some of that experience into a remarkable come back. He does make it back for the race that will determine if he continues racing or ends up retiring.

I really enjoyed this movie. For the third movie in the series I think they did a good job changing the story up a bit and keeping it from being just a stale remake of the first one. I would reccomend going to see Cars 3. I am looking forward to seeing it again either in the theatre or when it comes out on Blu-Ray.
