11.  choleric (kə-ˈler-ik): hot-tempered, easily angered

A choleric person usually has a violent temper.

12. analgesic (a-nəl-ˈjē-zik): reducing pain, soothing

A generous portion of analgesic balm was applied to the bruise.

13. alliteration (ə-ˌli-tə-ˈrā-shən):  repetition of consonant sounds in words for musical effect.

Alliteration is a characteristic of old English poetry.

14.  adamant (a-də-mənt):  hard-headed, firm, uncompromising

My dad was adamant about letting me take the car.

15. sardonic (sär-ˈdä-nik):  bitterly scornful, sneering

His sardonic remarks cause him to be disliked by many.
