Grace of God: Review and giveaway of DVD!!! Ends April 24

Grace of God

Grace of God opens up by showing a Pastor speaking from his pulpit to his congregation. He starts by  telling them the story of a fellow pastor whose church had a theft of $30,000. The movie then shifts to having us see the actual story unfold. We look into the lives of several of that church’s members and staff as well as the investigator that is called in to discover the thief.  Through  the story, we watch the investigator who has an initial negative view of Christians discover what faith is all about as well about forgiveness and redemption.  The story reveals to us the meaning behind our faith and how as sinners we all  need grace and forgiveness.  Finally , at the end of the story, we are taken back to the initial pastor’s pulpit where he finishes  up his sermon about the Ten Commandments.

I really enjoyed watching this film because it used a story line to teach about God’s grace and forgiveness as well as remind us that everyone falls short of what God expects from us.  Even Christians need to be reminded that we are all still sinners and have temptations that bring us back to the realization that we still need His grace and forgiveness.

Having lost his faith many years ago, Detective Bill Broadly is called to investigate the disappearance of the local church’s collection plate. As he questions its various church members, rumors swirl as more congregants learn about the theft. When one unexpected church-goer confesses to stealing the funds, the confession resurrects Broadly’s views on God, and helps him see that through faith and belief there really is rebirth and redemption.
