Those of you who know me already, have a good idea that our family loves Disney. We own most of the animated films as well as a good portion of the non-animated ones. We collect pins and go to Disney World when we can afford to go there. Our home is full of Disney treasures and we are also changing our decor over to a Disney theme. So we were excited to be selected to throw a Disney Side @ Home Celebrations party thanks to Disney, Mom Select, American Tourister, and HP. It all began for us when we received our package with our Disney Side @ Home Celebrations party supplies. It was left in the snow in front of our garage. I don’t know if it was too heavy for our UPS guy to move up a few steps to our door or what happened but it is what it is. Since my daughter’s birthday was during the month of February this was a great opportunity to share our Disney Side with her friends too. So Sara was excited to see what we received in our package. Mickey was curious too! We opened it up to find Mickey Mouse plates, cups, napkins and decorations for our party. In addition we got small boxes of Craisins, HP photo card packages, bracelets, Muppet calendar cards, Disney stickers and tattoos and many other cool items to help us celebrate with our friends and family. The reason why my box was so big was that it was all packaged within a new suitcase compliments of American Tourister which was a hostess gift for throwing the party! My dog was really excited about getting a package too. I think she thought it was for her. I planned on making an elaborate Disney themed cake but due to some personal and family situations that came up I was unable to spend the time doing that but my oldest daughter stepped up and made a cake for her. She put some Mickeys on the cake to tie it in to our party theme. Well our theme was really anything goes as long as it is Disney!
We made decorations and props for a photo booth.
I made a paper Sleeping Beauty Castle for our party and my daughter put her Disney Squinkies inside! I got the pattern and instructions from http://disneyexperience.com/. Great website for all you Disney fans. Came upon it by accident one day. I plan on making more of their paper crafts. It took a lot of time and patience but so worth it!
Here is a picture of the back of the castle. It was made by printing out the pieces and putting them together with basically just glue but I did need some toothpicks and chain for it as well. It has a working drawbridge.
We had a great time celebrating and showing our Disney Side. We played Disney Trivia and Disney Bingo which was provided in the party kit we received. Had cake and ice cream after we ate the Mickey pizza I made for the party. As a craft I helped the kids make Mickey Head necklaces made out of washers. The biggest thing we did at the party was a photo booth.
Everyone had a blast. We had about 5 kids and 4 adults and one dog present. I was so fortunate to have been able to host a Disney Side @ Home Celebration party.
