TOS Crew Review: Studypod

What comes to my mind when you hear the word, “Studypod”?
Is it a portable study area that you rent so you can have more space to homeschool? Oh no, maybe I was thinking of those little portable rental units that they leave at your place so you have extra storage. And no, we don’t homeschool in one of those. Though, We could use more room to do our homeschooling. Of course let’s stick to talking about the Studypod. OK?
Well when I was told I was going to review the Studypod through Genio, LLC, I was secretly hoping it was something like that. Ok I admit to being a little silly. Even though the Studypod is not an extra area in which to do our schoolwork, it does provide my kids more workspace. The Studypod is a bookholder that helps you to increase your workspace, eliminate neck strain, places your book at eye level, and provides hands free reading. The Studypod is shaped like a book and when folded up allows for easy storage and transport. When your book is on the Studypod, it also holds your pages in place until you need to turn the page. Another feature is that it has a small mesh net inside to hold pencils, notecards and other small supplies. The Studypod comes in black, pink, and blue.

Through their website you can also get the Bookpod which is the same product with the exception of the name and colors available (Black, Gray, and Beige).
The Studypod is easy to set up and use. Here is a video that shows you how to do just that:
We used the Studypod to allow my kids to read while taking notes from their textbooks as well as just when they wanted to read a book while they were eating. My youngest immediately started using it and tried out various sizes of books. She couldn’t find one of her books that the Studypod could not easily handle. In case you were wondering how the Studypod held up during use, I can tell you that it did not tip over at any time that we have used it and it appears to be very durable.
I loved that I could also use it in my kitchen for my cookbooks so that I could keep my books food free. I have several cookbooks that have pages with grease and other food stains on them because I didn’t have a Studypod until now. It also is going to come in handy because my kids are starting to learn to cook and I know how messy they can be around food.
Since it is so portable and sturdy, I plan on taking it with us when we go to to the library and other places where we intend on doing research. We plan on going out more to parks and other places n order to take our school on the road so I know the Studypod will be going with us along with our books and other supplies.
When we are at home, the area we have to do our homeschooling is very limited so having the Studypod has been a blessing to us. We can put our books on it and still work at the computer since it helps to take up less room. Before we had to have a small fold up tv tray table next to our work area if we wanted to have a book by the computer with us.
I also a planning to use it to hold music on it so that I don’t have to set up my music stand when I need to do impromptu practicing.
Can you see how versatile this simple little product really can be? Also it is one of those things that your kids can use throughout their life. For this reason, we may just have to add a few more to our household.
You can purchase a Studypod through Genio, LLC at their website for $19.95 for one and if you buy more than one you get a discount at $16.95.
