The Grace Card: Win a copy for yourself!!!!: Randomly Selected Winner — comment #17

Grace CardHave you ever wondered what happened to movies that had plots rather than relied on technical bells and whistles; ones that made you think and reflect on what you know and believe rather than just use rated R themes to grab your attention? Have you ever wondered what happened to movies that you could watch with your whole family? I admit they are hard to find these days but they are out there. The Grace Card is one of those movies. A movie that has much more than just a good plot and character development. It has a message and a lesson for each and every one of us. It also reveals to us much more about ourselves and our fellow man. It teaches us about who God is and what grace means. On another level it also teaches us to look beyond the outside of an individual and look within.

Synopsis

“Everything can change in an instant … and take a lifetime to unravel.

When Mac McDonald loses his son in an accident, the ensuing 17 years of bitterness and pain erodes his love for his family and leaves him angry with God … and just about everyone else.

Mac’s rage stonewalls his career in the police department and makes for a combustible situation when he’s partnered with Sam Wright, a rising star on the force who happens to be a part-time pastor and a loving family man.

Mac’s home life is as frightening as anything he encounters on the streets of Memphis. Money is tight and emotions run high as he constantly argues with his wife and his surviving son Blake, who is hanging with the wrong crowd and in danger of flunking out of school.

Sam Wright also never expected to be a police officer. He has a calling—to be a minister like his Grandpa George. But leading a small, start-up church doesn’t always put enough food on the table for a young family, so Sam doubles as a police officer. With his new promotion to Sergeant, Sam starts questioning if his real calling might actually be police work rather than the pastorate.

Can Mac and Sam somehow join forces to help one another when it’s impossible for either of them to look past their differences—especially the most obvious one?

Every day, we have the opportunity to rebuild relationships and heal deep wounds by extending and receiving God’s grace. Offer THE GRACE CARD … and never underestimate the power of God’s love.”

I definitely would recommend this movie to you. Be warned it may just change how you think about yourself, others, and God. What does “grace” mean to you? After you watch this movie will you think about it in the same way? There are some predictable things that happen in the movie but it carries a very powerful message that makes this movie a must see for everyone.

  1. Grace can mean so many things, but to me, it is blessing me with things I don’t deserve and sparing me from what I really do deserve.

This looks like a really good movie!

  14. GRACE…sucha pretty word with an even more beautiful meaning. The wrd “grace” can havemany meanings depending on the context in which it is uesed. The most important and dearest meaning to me is “God’s grace…He loved me and died for me inspite of my sin. The meaning of “grace” to me as a woman, is the ability to act accordingly and appropraitley in all situations with love, understanding and compassion. On a lighter note, my dad nicknamed me “Grace” when I was 10 or 11 years old for my apparent lack of “gracefulness”!

  15. Just looked at my comment…and I obviously did not spell check or edit my comment. Sorry…I am truthfully smarter than I appear!

  16. This movie sounds absolutely amazing. Grace is something only God can give us, a gift that we really don’t deserve. I think that I could never do enough to deserve it, but God will decide. For while the Law was given through Moses, grace (unearned, undeserved favor and spiritual blessing) and truth came through Jesus Christ. John 1: 17, I so would love to experience this movie. Thank you for giving me a chance.

  17. To me grace is being humble and respectful and giving freely of yourself

  18. To me grace is a gift that gives me that makes it possible for me to love Him and Him to love me…for Him to save me for salvation and to save me again daily from all the me-ish stuff.

    …the unmerited favor of God
