Rebecca St. James: I Will Praise You CD – giveaway thru 4/10/11

As I type this I am listening to a pre-release copy of Rebecca St. James’ new CD: I Will Praise You which is her first studio project since 2005! Release date is April 5th.  The first song came on and it was upbeat and uplifting inspiring me to lift up my hands in praise and sing along. Every song so far on this CD has been truly amazing. My daughters are listening along with me as well. For the last days I have been frustrated and heavy-hearted for various reasons and the songs on this new CD have just lifted me up and washed away all the heaviness and sadness. With tears in my eyes for how great our God really is despite our circumstances, I continue to be thankful for God for sending me this particular CD to review for you, my readers.

Rebecca St. James sings with such a sweet and real spirit throughout this CD. She truly expresses her love for God in her worship of Him. Normally I have CDs I own where there are several powerful worship songs on it but I will Praise You continues to provide a strong spirit of worship and awe for God. I can’t imagine anyone listening to this CD without feeling the presence of God here on earth. The only thing that would enhance the listening of this CD would be if I could be on a deck overlooking the ocean at sunset or sunrise.     I am listening to the first track now. Joy come in the morning…. Those words remind me of another song. The dogs will not BE QUIET in the other room, and hearing, “I will praise you,” over and over is good to calm my frustration.

    Until all the blog news about this new cd I have not listened to Rebecca St James in about our decade or more. Her voice is as beautiful as it ever was. I would love if this new work got me listening to a bit of Contemp. Christian music again. :)
