The Future Galileos program at Cincinnati Observatory
I wanted to post the email I received from Dean Regas from the Cincinnati Observatory as it contains all the information that tells about the Future Galileos program which entails getting a free telescope to share astronomy with your community. This would be a great program to get involved in as a homeschoooler.

Dear Teachers,
In a brand New Year how would you like a brand new telescope? The Future Galileos program is back and the Observatory is primed to award 20 quality telescopes to deserving educators around the tri-state. Think about what you and your students could do with this impressive instrument. For more info and a free application please visit: http://www.cincinnatiobservatory.org/futuregalileos.html
If you’re teaching astronomy or space science this semester the Observatory has a great way to involve your “spaceyest” students. It’s called the Student Astronomer program and it acts like an email astronomy club. Your students get a monthly email from me about “What’s Up” in the sky and then can share it with you an the class. Plus it’s free! For more, please see: http://www.cincinnatiobservatory.org/studentastronome.htm
Have you seen me on TV? I’ve been guest hosting the iconic short astronomy program Star Gazer. I’ve filmed 18 spots (all the December and January shows) that are available for download or view at: http://www.jackstargazer.com/JHSG_DNLD.html They make a nice accessory to your astronomy lessons. Make sure to vote for me so I can become the permanent host!
Our spring schedule is filling up fast. If you’d like to schedule a field trip to the Observatory or book a dynamic guest speaker to visit to your school please let me know.
Thanks,
Dean
