Christmas cards

We have cut down giving out Christmas cards every year because it coats so much to send and I never know who to send them to anymore. Anyone else have this dilemma? I am just starting to get mine done since I hand-make them. It seems we also get less and less every year too.

  1. We’ve cut down on Christmas cards too. I probably sent at least 50 each Christmas the first few years I was married. One year, I didn’t send any… can’t remember exactly why, maybe we didn’t have enough money for stamps. Then another year, we had some difficult issues with a baby and I didn’t send any. I realized then that there were some people (many, actually) who only sent us a Christmas card in the years that I sent one to them. I decided I wasn’t going to send cards to “fair weather friends,” so to speak.

Now I send cards to my parents and in-laws, my siblings and my husband’s brother, some aunts and uncles we are close to (but not the ones we never get to see or talk to anyway…not for any mean reason, just because our lives are so far apart). We send a card to our grandparents too. Anyway, we do get a LOT LESS cards than we used to. Seems like we used to get maybe 30-40 cards each year, but now we get less than ten. The doorway isn’t as pretty, but that’s okay. :)
