TOS Homeschool Crew Review: abcteach.com

As part of the TOS Homeschool Crew I was given access to abcteach’s website to use for free for a short time in order to provide a review on it. I have a paid subscription with a similar website which I will not mention here for obvious reasons. I can honestly say that I was so pleased with what I have seen with abcteach that I went ahead and paid to subscribe to it. Having said that I will tell you a little about abcteach website and tell you more about why I liked their website.

What exactly is their website all about and why would I be interested in it?

The website, abcteach.com, is an online educational resource center. For free you have access to thousands of educational printables including worksheets, activities and teaching extras. I think over 5000 free worksheets and printables on various subjects, categories, and grade levels (preschool through eighth grade). With a paid subscription you have access to “over 35,000 pages of worksheets and activities, abctools, and more, available to members.” There is so much available that it would fill this review with just telling you about that. I highly recommend that you visit their website to check that out for yourself at http://www.abcteach.com. When you buy a membership you not only get access to more materials but to abctools to generate your own worksheets.

One thing I like about abcteach.com is that not only are there things for younger kids but for older ones too. Also it is all in one convenient location. I school eclectically and put together my own stuff I teach so this is wonderful. Normally I have to come up with what I am looking for then search the internet for it. Now I go to this website and can either do a search for what I want or just browse and get ideas for things that way. Oh yeah and with the abctools, I can type in spelling and vocabulary lists and generate worksheets to go along with what we are studying. For example, I enter the spelling words from our spelling curriculum into the abctools worksheet generator to create a word find and copy pages for the lesson we are working on. I take the terms I want my kids to learn in their science lesson and create word finds and crossword puzzles. Can you even guess on some of the possibilities here? If you do workboxing, unit studies, or lapbooking then can you see how easy this will make your life and how much more fun for your kids? I used some of the printables from this website to help put together a lapbook for one of the science lessons we were doing on the earth’s composition. Also, there is stuff for the teacher as well. Pages you can use for portfolios such as goals and evaluation sheets, label printouts, graphics to use and others. Like I said you really need to look at it yourself to get the full picture of what abcteach has to offer you.

The website is easy to navigate and I like that when you search for something that it comes up with a description of the item before you go to the page for it.

Check out the video tour and explore and try the freebies on their website to see if this is a fit for your homeschool! This was a difficult one for me to review because I did not want to overwhelm you with all the possibilities and there was so much to talk about.

The website for abcteach also sends you a free newsletter to keep you informed of new items and such on their website.

If you like what you see their membership is priced as follows:

$40 per user per year / $70 two years — individuals/groups 2-9
$35 per user per year — groups of 10-29
$25 per user per year — groups of 30 or more.
There is also a SUPER SITE LICENSE pricing available for groups of 100 or more.

Right now the Homeschool Buyers Co-op has a discount offer for abcteach membership for $20. You can find out about it here and it is good through November 30th.
