My kids were suppose to go to the in-laws today to stay with them for the week to go to their VBS. MY DH and I had been given a complementary stay at a local hotel so we could at least get away from things for a day and get into air conditioning again. Our AC has been broke for the last several weeks now. He took off 2 days of work to do so. We can’t afford a vacation and have our 20th anniversary next week. We had been looking forward to this week for a month now. Sigh My oldest woke up not feeling well which is rare for her. It had to be now didn’t it? SO I stayed home to clean while my DH and the two girls went up to the in-laws to drop my youngest off there. I figure I might as well do something productive with the few hours I have to myself. So far I have missed most of my summer since I’ve had to work evenings for most of it. I feel a bit guilty since I promised my youngest we would go to parks and she could learn to ride her bike without training wheels. I promised them we would set up the little pool and slip n slide out back and do that. I have not kept that promise about the pool for many many years now. So far nothing. We have the remains of a large tree spread out in our backyard (for a little over a month now) that still needs cleaned up so we can’t even use our swing set. We have a fairly new chainsaw that doesn’t work.. well maybe for 10 minutes every several days. Trying desperately to make lemonade out of a lot of sour lemons.. Hoping my DH will finally find a computer job again after being laid off for 6 years now. That would at least give us plenty of “sugar” to make lemonade. I guess I will have to just sit here “squeezing lemons” in my mind until I am able to think of a way to make lemonade. I guess I sound like Eeyore.. It’s just been one of those days for me….
